Unlike enclosed combat vehicles, the M7 featured an exposed fighting compartment, offering crews heightened awareness and quicker reload times at the cost of protection. "It felt quietly defiant," Yestin recalls. "Here was a machine designed not to seek glory in the front lines, but to empower those who were there."
