The Most Extraordinary Model Car Review

This is my childhood dream. When I was a little kid, I used to be into model airplanes, model trains and more importantly model cars. And this model car is not just any regular one. This is an amazing supercar.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to our blog. It's Victor from the Nifeliz team here. Nifeliz's sets are not Lego but compatible.

Today we're going to be reviewing this cool model car set. First things first, we're going to learn about its details.

— Set details —

This one is called Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar MOC Building Kit and Engineering Toy. It consists of 3,780 pieces and came out in 2022. So this is a modified verson of the McLaren Senna and as you can see, it looks awesome. On the box, this says it's recommended for ages 16 and up. This is going to be so much fun and I'm so excited. I'm just going to open it up and show you guys what's inside.

And now for the moment of truth: we have got an instruction manual, a bunch of stickers, a whole bunch of pieces, and 4 wheels. Next up, I'm going to count the bags. One, two, three... thirty-six. We have got 36 bags.

— Completion —

Hey, guys. Welcome back. All right, guys. It is finally completed. We did it as a family project. I needed an extra couple hands for this set, so actually my son, Justin, had been here to help me build this set, which is pretty awesome. We've been waiting for this for five days. This 1:8 Scale Racing Sports Car Model for Adults Men Teens is actually a five-day build. It doesn't have to take five days, but we worked on it a little bit by a little bit. This is definitely worth it for it's a cool piece just to put on a shelf in your house and it will definitely tell a story about what you did with your family and how much you enjoy playing with this essential toy.

So this time, something has helped us immensely when we put together this kit because when you have a lot of parts, you don't want to be searching for every single little part. It is pretty simple. All you need to do is categorize the Technic pins before you build the set and that actually is a lot of fun.

I used some plastic portion cups that I got from Amazon. And these are great for categorizing really small pieces that might fall on the floor. With a long build like this, you're definitely going to have pieces that may fall or you think you've lost. Therefore, this is a really good way to categorize the pins. So I just left these portion cups right here before we actually built the set and saw if Justin could figure out what to do. Meanwhile, I tried to inspire him to do this sort of thing and they definitely helped him out with problem-solving.

— About the McLaren Senna —

The McLaren Senna is an amazing supercar in McLaren's ultimate series of its flagship and premier cars. It is absurdly ridiculous-looking, fast, insane and expensive. Because this car is designed for racetrack use, the look has been controversial, to say the least. The Senna is not gorgeous, not even really attractive. However, McLaren says it's all functional for the very best in track performance. The truth is that every bit of the Senna is as good as those handsome supercars, maybe better than some, but it doesn't look as good as them and when you spend a million bucks for a car, that's pretty important.

— Features —

Again the actual Nifeliz system was utilized for this set, you know, actually building universal ones to make more realistic cars. Therefore, as for the styling, just like the real car, Nifeliz Adult Collectible Super Sports Car Technique Car Building Kit is certainly distinctive and I've kind of come to appreciate how bold and daring and ridiculous it really is. And not only that, but unlike the actual car, this thing is so gorgeous as well. I love it. I'm absolutely blown away by it.

Now let's dive into all of the quirks and features of of this thing.

First off, looking at the front side, it is the most insane front portion that I've ever seen.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

So the first thing I want to mention is this awesome-looking little logo to tell people that this is called a MecLrun.

Like the actual car, it has got the massive front overhang. It really is amazing how far this car continues in front after the front wheels stop. Usually performance cars have very small overhangs to minimize excessive bodywork and that sort of thing, but this one just goes and goes and goes. And once again, I'm sure there's a functional purpose for it in the actual car. And it does look very unusual, especially compared to most other performance and sports cars. If you drive by people in this car, they just look at it like you're Batman.

Moving on to the lighting in the front of the car, we have the turn signals, which are represented by these long white tube pieces. They stick way out, kind of projecting forward. It is very detailed.

And then we've got the headlights, represented by two clear pieces. They are actually further back more integrated into the body. I love the detail.

Now next up, we move on to another interesting component of the Senna and that would be storage. The fact is that there is none and by that I mean there is no storage at all in the actual car. There's no trunk in front. There's no trunk in back. There's no glove box in this car. There's no little net through storage cubby behind the seats.

This model car not only looks like the original McLaren Senna, but also it has the addition here of a trunk in front. And then the hood pops up, so you can see we do have some storage space in the front. It just goes to show you how much space there is to actually store your stuff when you are travelling in your a million-dollar car. If you want to go on a trip, probably you will take this car. They just thought of everything in this set. I love the set.

We've also got this little panel on the hood, but it doesn't open. It looks so realistic that I tried to open it several times. In the real car, there are fluid caps for the steering fluid, the windshield washer fluid and the transmission fluid, all under this panel here.

Taking a look at the sides, it's so cool.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

One of the most incredible features of this model car has to do its doors. Like the actual car, they open in a butterfly fashion. In fact, these are actually styled more based on the McLaren F1.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

In order to open the doors, there is a gear at the top that opens and closes them. And I've got to say it is very cool and a fun function to play around with. Before you open the doors, you can lift both doors a little and the doors will open faster. Manual controls do take a little bit of time, but it's fun, that's for sure.

And we've got two really interesting side mirrors on the doors. They both rotate, raise and lower.

The coolest feature, however, is the window on the door itself. So this door has two side windows. This model car has a regular side window similar to what you'd have in your car, and then a window that faces the ground. The door has two separate areas of windows on it, which is crazy.

The inspiration for the see-through doors actually came from the view that helicopter pilots have from the cockpit. The 360-degree aerial view gives this unmatched sense of speed and visibility. And that's something that I've certainly never seen before in a model car, not even in a production car.

As you can see, the upper window in this car is split into two and in the real car, only the lower part rolls down.

Like the real car, it's a very small opening as you can obviously see. This is not a car you'll want to take through the drive-through because you won't be able to pass food or drinks through that little opening in the window.

We've got the lower window to complement the upper window. Take a look at this. The lower window has got actually a piece of plastic representing a piece of glass and that is just a fantastic quirk.

Imagine driving this car, or even riding in the passenger seat and being able to see out that window. If you drove around in this car, you could look through the lower window and see the lane lines on the road or a little bit of the wheel of the car next to you as you drove down the street thanks to the lower door window.

We've got some silver wheels, which, I believe, are better-looking than those on the real car. These are custom-made for this kit and they have some really meaty tires. Now this is a square stance kit meaning that the width of tires are exactly the same from front to back.

We have the orange brake caliper and the double shock absorbers on each wheel.

So Look at this. Its independent suspension is pretty good. They actually do move up and down.

Looking at the back side, the detail in the back is really nice.

We've got a really nice engine compartment where we've got the cool V8 engine and our exhaust manifold to it. And the engine is going to be pushing the gases through these different pipes in this exhaust manifold.

You can even see three engine breather tubes to either side of the engine. How detailed that is!

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

It is a working engine, but as you move the car, we can't see the little pistons actually going up and down because of the engine bay cover. It's worth noting that the Nifeliz designers sacrificed a bit of functionality for reality because around the back of the real Senna, you cannot open the engine cover and gain access to the engine compartment even if you own a Senna. Instead, it's like bolted down into place and you have to take it to a McLaren's Service Center and they know where to unbolt it and pull it off. So you can't really access it. You can look in and see the engine, but you can't get in there and start playing with stuff. I guess McLaren decided it was best to leave that to the trained professionals.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

And then just above the engine compartment, we have the roof scoop. Just like the McLaren F1 and the P1, as well as the real Senna, there's a little roof scoop here. It goes over the roof and sucks in air that way, which is kind of cool.

Check out all of the aerodynamic elements in the rear of the model car. Just like the actual car, these louvers, for instance, help channel heat away from the engine bay and from underneath the car or increase cooling.

We also have the exhaust in the middle here on the back, which are up on the top, instead of on the bottom like most other cars. I love cars where the exhaust takes precedence over the license plate. These are the cars that really know what matters. And looking at this cool exhaust, I can imagine hearing its amazing sound.

And underneath the exhaust, you'll actually see that there is a license plate where you'll see there's a sticker that says MecLrun.

And next up, let's talk about the wing because it is really a marvel of this car. It is truly massive and probably the largest rear wing I've ever seen on any model car. It just looks absolutely crazy, but again, they say this is all functional to provide downforce that helps keep the car on the ground tight on the racetrack when you're driving along. And McLaren says all of this stuff adds up to almost 1,800 pounds of downforce, which is a huge number and really important for racetrack driving and theoretically that's why the car looks like this.

And another very cool item in the back of this car is the brake lights and turn signals. And once again, like the real car, they share this very thin clear strip, which is represented by this long flexible red tube piece. This tiny hidden strip is integrated into the back of the car. I think it looks really really neat.

As well as the headlights, we have the rear lights. They are two little red clear pieces, representing the LED lights on the real car and that looks correct.

Like I always say, although I am not too crazy about detailed interiors, i's nice when the car builds have them. However, this interior has it all.

First of all, we've got the the gauge cluster, which is in sort of a sleeping position. That's nice because you don't always get to see that.

Many very cool things happen when you start the real car, but one of the coolest is the fact that the gauge cluster automatically rises into place. It moves from its sort of a sleeping position into an up position to provide you with all of the most important gauges that you need. When you turn the car off, the gauge cluster does the opposite. It turns off and then it sort of folds away automatically and goes back into its sleep position.

Underneath the gauge cluster, you can see that there's a dashboard sticker, indicating all of that detail as well. You can make out those tiny little individual numbers there on the speedometer.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

And here there's a tiny little GTR logo on the steering wheel. There are paddle shifters right behind the steering wheel here, which allow for quick gear shifting in the real car. One of the paddles is used to bring the car down a gear, while the other paddle brings the car up a gear. It is so detailed that you wouldn't even know you're looking at a model car right now.

Now another functional feature of this model car is the steering wheel. As you can see, we can turn the wheel right and left, so you can actually steer the car.

We've also got the infotainment screen in the center of the car. In the real car, the ‘floating’ central infotainment screen is presented in portrait to increase interior space. It is also angled out and up towards the driver to be easily visible within line of sight even when a helmet is being worn.

And then behind that infotainment screen, again there is another nice-looking little logo, which says MecLrun.

On the left of the logo, you can see there's also another sticker indicating four levers on the top of this little control compartment. Those are the transmission levers. We have P, R, N, and D, which stand for Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive respectively. In the actual car, you push them down to engage each gear.

On the right, we have four separate buttons. I guess the top one is the ENGINE START/STOP button. If you want to start the car, push that button and that's what turns it on. The next one is LAUNCH that activates launch control just like the real car. And then the third one is AUTO START/STOP because even the real car has AUTO START/STOP. It'll turn itself off at traffic lights to save fuel. Likewise, the bottom one is the HAZARD LIGHTS.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

There're two seats with headrests on either side of the control compartment, one for your driver and the other for your passenger. Both the seats and the headrests can be pushed forward and back. They certainly seem real.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

Each seat has even the over-the-shoulder restraint that keeps the upper part of the your body firmly in place a lot better than a standard seat belt when you're going around hard corners on the racetrack. That's what I love. That's just the practicality of this set.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

Now next up, I want to move on to a discussion of the exterior of this model car and specially I want to address all of the cuts and gouges and openings and holes throughout the exterior of it. Like the actual car, it's just ridiculous-looking and McLaren says all of this stuff is functional.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

These air inlets in the front are specially designed to direct air a certain way, which is the same with all of the other ones.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

Probably the craziest one is the little air pass-through behind the wheel and tire. You can see there's a giant hole back here and what ends up happening is the tire kicks up rocks and then they end up on the bottom of the door. So when you open the door, rocks are always falling out every time you've driven the car. But again, McLaren claims this is functional and as I mentioned earlier, they say the same thing about the rear wing.

— Two nice-looking color schemes —

In addition to the ridiculous-looking exterior, we can also select the exterior colour theme for this model car. This set comes in two color schemes. Both of the schemes look very nice.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

This one is the grey-blue color scheme. I actually like that a lot. I especially love a whole bunch of extra stickers, which are included in this scheme.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

If you send a picture of the real car to a friend of yours who's not into cars, they might tell you it is crazy-looking. It looks like the kind of child's  toy that has a remote control and your parents accidentally step on. I think that is the characterization of this actual car. It's just ridiculous-looking, but certainly not beautiful.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

With much more cool sticker details, this thing looks absolutely gorgeous. These extra stickers are like patches of the metro prism geometric triangle wallpaper. The contemporary design of the stickers is made of white geometric triangles on a powder blue background. This one has got these extra stickers in the front and on the panels on both sides, along with logos for various points in the car. They definitely blend in very nicely.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

The other scheme is a stylish orange colour scheme.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

Grays and reds seem to be the most common colors, for I've seen the McLaren Senna plenty of times in the pictures and they're usually not orange. But I know the orange was like a new color for the 2021 model year and I believe it will continue to be popular this year. Besides, this color itself is easy on the eye.

— Summary —

All in all, Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar MOC Building Kit and Engineering Toy is definitely the most extraordinary model car I've ever seen. Like the real Senna, it's eye-catching and very cool. In fact, this is one of the coolest supercars, if not the coolest for it's got quite a lot of cool features that you have never seen before, such as the huge wing and the lower window on the door. If you're a brick-building fan or a car lover, it is a must-have.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

Furthermore, it is actually gorgeous in comparison to the real car. I really do love the aesthetics of this model car. The more I look at it, the more I do love it. And what's more, there's a really remarkable level of detail in the interior, which is a definite plus.

Nifeliz Sanna GTRR Supercar Compatible With Lego

The build process was like educational entertainment for both my son and me for it can help develop problem-solving and planning skills. And of course, we had a good time together. You can do it as a family project like we did or do it as a project just by yourself.
It's so sweet. I just love this set!
