Calla Lily Flower Building Set Review—Bringing the Elegant Beauty of Flowers into Everyday Life

Hello again, this is Cecilia. Today, I'd like to share my experience with a flower-arranging building set.

If roses represent passion and lilies embody understated elegance, then Calla Lilies, to me, have a quiet kind of sophistication all their own.

The shape of a Calla Lily is not particularly complicated. It doesn't have layers upon layers of petals, but its clean, flowing lines are incredibly beautiful. The pure white petals gently curl upward, resembling a small trumpet opening gracefully around the central spadix. Slender stems reach upward, while several leaves naturally fan out to the sides. From a distance, the overall look is clean and refined; up close, there are plenty of delicate details to appreciate.

Fresh flowers are undeniably beautiful, but their blooming season is always fleeting. You bring them home full of excitement, only to find yourself facing wilted petals and yellowing leaves not long afterward. For those of us who love flowers but aren't particularly good at taking care of plants, a bouquet of "building-block flowers" that never wilts can actually be a much more relaxing alternative. You can sit down and build them at your own pace whenever you feel like it, then simply place the finished arrangement on your desk. There's no watering, no changing the water, and no need to worry about it suddenly losing its color one day.

And this time, I got to "grow" a Calla Lily of my own, piece by piece. So, let's take a closer look at how this Calla Lily building set performs in practice. How clear is the instruction manual? How smoothly do the pieces fit together? And, most importantly, once completed, does the finished arrangement really capture the graceful elegance of a Calla Lily?

1. Packaging and Contents

The packaging features a clean and refreshing white design, with a photo of the completed model taking up most of the front. The flowers are placed at the visual center of the image, creating a simple and clean overall look. There are no excessive or complicated decorative elements, which fits the fresh and elegant character of this floral model very well.

2.Building Process

Bag 1 contains 3 numbered stages.

I first opened the [1.22] bag to assemble the base of the flower pot.

Here's an important reminder: the part used in step 8 has a cross-shaped hole in the center. Be sure to identify it carefully during assembly so that you don't accidentally use the wrong part.

The base is built up layer by layer using dark green pieces, creating a solid and sturdy foundation. The outer edge is decorated with delicate gold-colored pieces, adding a subtle yet refined touch of elegance. Overall, the finished base looks very impressive.

However, to be completely honest, the green areas in the instruction manual are quite dark, making the contrast less noticeable. Some of the structural details can also look a little blurry, so I often had to look at the instructions from a closer distance.

Next, I opened the [23.38] bag and started building the main framework of the entire flower arrangement.

I attached the light green flower stems of different lengths one by one to the rotating base. With the tall, medium, and short stems arranged at different heights, the overall layers of the floral arrangement gradually began to take shape. Once this section was completed, the entire framework felt very upright and sturdy rather than flimsy. It was easy to tell that the whole arrangement had plenty of structural support.

After that, I opened bag [39.69].

When I reached Step 44, I noticed that a small gap remained after the parts were connected. The pieces could not be pressed completely flush into place, which was slightly different from the perfectly fitted result shown in the instruction manual. It is not a major flaw, but the lack of a perfect fit is quite noticeable.

In addition, the illustration in Step 47 only shows the parts from a single angle, so the alignment and positioning of the pieces are not particularly intuitive. If illustrations from multiple angles could be added, it would make the correct installation positions much easier to identify.

After completing this section, I added the large, curved leaves to the flower stems. The leaves feature hinged joints, so their angles can be freely adjusted. At the same time, I attached the first pure white calla lily flower head. At that moment, the model instantly started to take on the look of a real floral arrangement, and its soft and elegant character really came through!

Moving on to the second stage of assembly, which contains 3 parts bags.

I started by opening bag  [70.82].

For Steps 74 and 75, I intentionally changed the assembly order. I first installed and secured all of the branches and stems, and then attached the flowers one by one. I found this approach to be more convenient.

I then added the curved leaves and two clusters of pale yellow flowers. At this stage, you can adjust the angle of the leaves and the direction of the flower clusters according to your own preference. There is no need to strictly follow the fixed poses shown in the instruction manual.

Next, I opened bag [83.122].

When I reached Step 84, I found that this section was actually unnecessary. When installed separately, it could not be secured firmly enough. Based on my experience during the build, I believe this #4 rod should instead be assembled together with the structure in Step 85. That approach would make much more sense and provide a more stable connection.

After resolving these minor issues, I attached two full and delicate pure white calla lilies, one bright and translucent daffodil, and several small yellow flowers in different sizes to the branches. At this point, all of the visual highlights and layers of color in the entire arrangement really came together. 

I have to say that the custom flower pieces are extremely well made. The petals have smooth, rounded, and natural curves, giving the flowers a remarkably realistic appearance.

Finally, I opened bag [123.152].

I then added the yellow lilies, daffodil, calla lilies, and small clusters of complementary flowers one by one to fill the gaps throughout the arrangement, making the overall floral display look fuller and more abundant.

Once all the leaves and flower heads had been installed, the arrangement was finally complete.

The elegant pure white calla lilies bloom gracefully, while delicate bright yellow flowers add gentle pops of color throughout the arrangement. 

The lush green leaves overlap and weave naturally around the flowers at different heights. The entire arrangement has a well-balanced distribution of dense and open areas, giving it a lively and natural appearance. It looks beautiful from every angle, with an appealing view no matter how you look at it.

4. Overall Evaluation

The first impression of the completed model is that it looks fresh and natural. The white calla lilies stand tall and gracefully, complemented by the yellow flowers and green foliage to create a bright and harmonious color combination. The flowers are arranged at different heights, while the leaves extend naturally to both sides, making the entire arrangement look full and well-balanced rather than monotonous. The three-dimensional structure of the white petals is particularly impressive. Combined with the flower centers and surrounding clusters of smaller flowers, it creates a rich level of detail that still looks refined when viewed up close.

One of the most commendable features is that both the petals and leaves can be adjusted according to personal preference. You can change the direction of the flowers and the curvature of the leaves, allowing the finished model to take on different poses. By making small adjustments to the height of the individual flowers and the direction of the leaves, you can transform the arrangement from a more orderly appearance into something much more natural, giving you a slight sense of creating your own floral arrangement. The simple and sturdy black base also provides a nice contrast to the flowers above. Once completed, the model would be a great addition to a desk, bookshelf, or office table.

Overall, this Calla Lily model has a fresh and elegant design, a pleasing color combination, and well-crafted details, while also offering a good level of adjustability. It provides plenty of enjoyment during the building process and can also serve as a charming little desktop decoration once completed. Although there are some minor issues, such as gaps between certain parts, unclear illustrations in a few steps, and some individual pieces that are slightly difficult to secure, these issues do not affect the final visual appeal. All things considered, it is still a well-executed floral building-block model with a good overall level of finish.
